Is FBA in China a thing?
Short answer: No — not in the way most sellers expect.
I get this question a lot.
Especially from Shopify and Amazon sellers sourcing from China.
Let's clear it up.
Amazon does not operate FBA fulfillment centers in mainland China.
There are:
Amazon offices | sourcing teams | seller support operations
But there are no Amazon-run warehouses that:
Store inventory | pick & pack | ship directly to end customers
So if you're asking:
“Can I store products in China and ship to customers via Amazon FBA?”
The answer is no.
Because Amazon works with China — not from China.
Here's what usually happens:
Factories in China → shipped to US/EU FBA warehouses → Amazon handles last-mile delivery
That first leg is on you.
Amazon doesn't manage:
Supplier coordination | quality control | export handling | China-side storage
That gap is where many sellers struggle.
If you source from China, you need a China fulfillment partner before FBA.
That means:
QC before export | temporary storage | carton consolidation | prep for FBA rules
This is where a China 3PL comes in.

Inbound to US/EU only | strict prep rules | higher long-term storage fees | no sourcing support
China 3PL
China-side warehousing | QC & repacking | flexible inventory flow | lower early-stage costs
Most experienced sellers use both.
China 3PL handles upstream.
Amazon FBA handles last-mile.
Does Amazon have fulfillment centers in China?
No. Amazon does not run FBA warehouses in mainland China.
Are there Amazon warehouses in China for sellers?
No. Inventory must be shipped to Amazon fulfillment centers outside China.
How do sellers ship from China to Amazon FBA?
Through freight forwarders or China-based 3PL fulfillment partners.
Can a China 3PL replace Amazon FBA?
For DTC brands and Shopify stores, yes. For Prime delivery, no.
Amazon doesn't fulfill from China.
But your supply chain starts there.
The smartest sellers don't choose FBA or China 3PL.
They design a system that uses both.
